Hello Doctor

Today we met with our pulomologist for a routine checkup. We expected to receive the blood work results, which would state what gene mutation that Roanan has, but they are still pending... On the other hand, we did receive the results from the fecal elastase test. It revealed that R is only digesting half of the nutrients from my milk, therefore, he eats double to make up for the lack of nutritional digestion. A healthy person would score over 200 on the fecal elastase test and R scored a 119. So he is digesting some of the nutrients but not all.  The Aquadek supplement provides many of the vitamins that his body isn't digesting, but we will need to begin pancreatic enzymes once we introduce food. Thankfully R is doing great! We are so blessed to be able to hold off on the enzymes for the time being.

She did give us some pancreatic enzymes in case we feel that Roanan needs them. She said that we could try a low dosage for a few days and see how R reacts. The pulmonologist also prescribed some medication for his rash (she believes it could be a mix of baby acne and eczema) and for heartburn (she thinks heartburn could cause some of his coughing and spitting up. When R spits up it could somehow end in his lungs and create a lung infection.[which is the last thing we want])  His new weight is 12.12 lbs and he is 23.5 in long. He is growing beautifully! The doctor was very impressed with Roanans growth and described his as being perfect. (which we already knew)

We are so thankful for all the prayers and for the wonderful report that the Lord blessed us with.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Roanan waiting on the Dr.
